Jobtailor is seeking a skilled wind turbine field technician to support site operations and fulfill contractual obligations for GE wind turbine equipment. Responsibilities

• Work with site/hub leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements and activities on a daily basis, including any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generator.
• Apply extensive understanding of variable pitch & speed turbines and converter parts.
• Read, understand and explain schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety processes and regulations and all applicable compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch & variable speed turbines.
• Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision, observing all safety requirements.
• Effectively perform diagnostic analysis and generate a plan for timely resolution.
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
• Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
• Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager, and mentor peers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass Technical Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of wind troubleshooting experience
• Or 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience with at least 1 year in EHS, SQC, or in a lead role
• Basic computer skills
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time
• Ability to handle repetitive weight (50 lbs.) and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
• Meet and maintain manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs including required gear
• Ability and willingness to work in environments including but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
• Effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations
• Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs
• Occasional overnights may be required per hub needs
