Tour Merchandise Coordinator
Based in Berlin, BSI Merch is the UK’s leading independent music merchandise company, supplying artist-branded products through various channels globally, including production, e-commerce, and touring.
This is a full-time, office-based position in Berlin, working 5 days a week, typically from 09:00 to 17:00 or 09:30 to 17:30.
Role Overview
The Tour Merchandise Coordinator manages all aspects of tour merchandise related to selling artist-branded products on the road. This role requires collaboration across departments such as art, production, account management, logistics, and finance.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients and account managers to define product ranges.
- Draft projections, including gross profit and per-head spending.
- Manage setup, forecasting, management, and reconciliation/reporting via atVenu for each tour.
- Research clients' previous product lines and sales history.
- Determine sizing and quantities appropriate for the band's demographic.
- Project tour expenses and fees.
- Supervise product shipping and logistics, choosing optimal shipping methods.
- Manage small tour operations and advance shows with relevant teams.
- Hire local vendors and negotiate merchandise contracts.
- Travel to artist performances to oversee quality control and logistics.
- Discuss future tours, client needs, and new design ideas.
- Hire and manage touring merchandise managers.
- Manage inventory, track daily/per show, and submit reorders.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking.
- Coordinate with tour/production managers and clients.
- Handle financial documentation, including credit card reports, expense reports, and tour summaries.
Requirements
- Minimum three years’ experience in music, touring, or merchandise.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferences
- Experience in entertainment merchandising and familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com and atVenu.
- Knowledge of European geography and experience with point-of-sale systems like MyPOS.
