Amazon in Berlin is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for EC2 Core Compute. You will own cross-functional programs shaping reliability, performance, security, and economics of the Nitro System and compute platforms.
You’ll influence senior leadership, coordinate across time zones, and drive fleet-wide deployment and capacity planning. Based in Berlin, you will manage end-to-end delivery across multiple engineering teams, develop strategic roadmaps, and translate complex status into
EC2 Core Compute owns the AWS Nitro System and the general purpose EC2 instance families. The Nitro System is the purpose-built platform of dedicated hardware, a lightweight hypervisor, and a hardware root of trust that powers every modern EC2 instance — offloading virtualization, networking, storage, and security functions to dedicated Nitro Cards and a Nitro Security Chip, while the Nitro Hypervisor delivers bare-metal-equivalent performance with a minimized attack surface. Our organization also owns the C, M, R, X, Flex, and T instance families — the non-accelerated general purpose compute platforms that serve the broadest range of AWS customer workloads across millions of servers and Intel, AMD, and AWS Graviton processor architectures.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to own programs that directly shape the reliability, performance, security, and economics of this foundational infrastructure. You will create scope in ambiguous problem spaces, influence engineering and business decisions at the senior leadership level, and drive cross-organizational alignment across multiple engineering teams. You will work at the rare intersection of hardware and software — spanning the Nitro System, processor platform roadmaps, fleet modernization, and customer-facing capacity commitments — with visibility to the highest levels of the company. This role is based in Berlin, one of Amazon's largest engineering hubs in Europe.
You will operate across multiple engineering teams without direct reports, earning trust through technical credibility and consistent delivery. Your work includes leading program syncs across time zones, reviewing engineering milestones for Nitro System and compute platform programs, identifying risks before they become blockers, and preparing leadership updates that translate complex technical status into clear business impact.
This role requires regular cross-timezone collaboration with US-based teams, including late evening meeting participation. Your stakeholders span engineering managers, directors, and senior leaders across AWS. Your customers are every team and every workload that runs on EC2.
