Personio is seeking a Senior Solutions Consultant to join the Go To Market team in Germany, working primarily with the German sales group on retention and expansion within existing customers. You will own the technical strategy, act as a trusted advisor across Sales, Product, Engineering and Customer Success, and travel 10–20% as needed.

As a Senior Solutions Consultant, you will be part of the Go To Market (GTM) organization, reporting to the Solutions Engineering Lead. You will work primarily with our German sales team on retention and expansion opportunities within our existing customer base, owning the technical strategy for cross-sell and renewals across our accounts.

You will be a trusted advisor across Sales, Product & Engineering, Customer Success, and Data Privacy, as well as a point of technical judgment for the wider SC team.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

• Own the technical strategy for existing-business accounts where cross-sell, renewal risk, or account complexity requires senior ownership.
• Map account whitespace, identifying where usage patterns and product gaps signal a cross-sell opportunity before the account manager or customer raises it.
• Act as the escalation point and technical decision-maker for account managers and customer success managers on product-level scoping, technical fit, and requirement validation.
• Build deep, cross-product technical mastery of Personio's suite, integrations, and security landscape, and become the go-to expert other SCs consult before escalating further.
• Lead commercial proposals and executive-level presentations for cross-sell and expansion deals, owning the ROI/TCO business case for adding new products to an existing account.
• Mentor and coach other SCs on technical positioning, discovery, and demo craft, and contribute to the team's enablement content.
• Partner with Product & Engineering to surface adoption and whitespace patterns across the existing-business portfolio, not just individual account feedback.
• Support other regions/markets as required.
• Travel to customer sites as needed (10-20% of time).

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

• You have 3-5+ years of customer-facing experience in B2B SaaS, with meaningful track record in existing business, renewals, or expansion/cross-sell motions.
• You have a strong technical background and understanding of SaaS, IT infrastructure, integrations, and security protocols, including working knowledge of security/compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, GDPR).
• You have a track record of independently owning complex, multi-stakeholder technical evaluations for product or product-line expansion within existing accounts.
• You have experience working with HR, ITSM, ERP, or other business systems, which is a plus.
• You have experience with value engineering and ROI/TCO quantification, specifically for expansion and retention business cases, rather than net-new acquisition.
• You have experience informally leading, mentoring, or upskilling other SCs or SEs.
• You are customer-centric and commercially driven, with strong judgment on where to invest effort based on account value and expansion potential.
• You have a clear, structured communication style that adapts to executive and technical audiences alike.
• You are a native German speaker and fluent in English.
• AI Fluency: You have hands-on experience using AI to improve your workflow, and the sound judgment to know exactly when to rely on it and when to step in yourself.
