Job summary

About the job

At Synpulse, we believe that technology is a strategic enabler of business transformation. We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and strategy.
As part of our Synpulse8 team, you will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions for our clients across banking and insurance, with a particular focus on reinsurance and our Reinsurance Workbench solutions.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, combining strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise and a strong software engineering background. Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and future-ready architectures.
You will guide technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, contribute to the continuous evolution of our solutions, and help drive technical excellence across projects.
This role is open across Germany. We are looking for suitable profiles nationwide.
Thanks to our flexible working models and project-based setup, you can be based anywhere in Germany. Travel requirements depend on client needs and project phases, not on proximity to a specific office location.

Job responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with clients to understand business goals, identify technology opportunities, and define digital transformation strategies
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures across Cloud, web, mobile, and backend systems, often in the context of complex enterprise ecosystems
• Architect modern data platforms and pipelines, and embed AI/ML and GenAI capabilities into end-to-end solutions, treating data and intelligence as first-class architectural concerns
• Leverage Cloud Native and Cloud Agnostic design principles to create flexible, portable, and resilient architectures that can thrive across multi-cloud environments
• Use industry-standard modeling approaches like C4Model, ArchiMate, or equivalent to document and communicate system architecture clearly
• Lead architecture reviews, technical discovery sessions, and proof-of-concepts
• Act as a hands-on advisor throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and quality expectations
• Work in agile and multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions at speed
• Maintain a strong awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends, especially in financial services and fintech
• Mentor and inspire engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning

Job requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering or solution architecture, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior architect role
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade systems within financial services, banking, wealth management, or insurance
• Deep understanding of Cloud Native architectures, including containerisation, Kubernetes, service mesh, and serverless technologies, as well as Cloud Agnostic approaches for multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud deployments
• Strong expertise in modern technology stacks, including event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and DevSecOps
• Solid knowledge of data engineering and data architecture, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming technologies, combined with experience integrating AI/ML into production environments
• Proficiency with architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as C4 Model, PlantUML, Structurizr, or ArchiMate
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying on-premises and hybrid infrastructure solutions in highly regulated environments
• Proven ability to design and deliver fixed-price or outcome-based projects while balancing scope, quality, and timelines
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach
• Collaborative mindset, leadership potential, and the ability to coach and mentor others
• Fluent English is required; German language skills are an advantage
