A technology company in Munich is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their team. The role involves developing software for an earth observation satellite constellation, prioritizing reliability and automation. We are looking for talentedSoftware Engineer with demonstrated real-world experience to help us conceptualize, implement and operate our ground segment software platform. As a key member of our team, you'll operationalize, improve and troubleshoot our earth observation (EO) satellite constellation - directly contributing to refine our ability to monitor and respond to wildfires, helping to safeguard communities, preserve wildlife, and protect ecosystems worldwide.
For our cross-functional software development teams, we're looking for someone who’s proactive, with a strong ability to understand the bigger picture while also diving deep into technical details & implementations.
Prioritizing reliability, automation, and long-term maintainability in all systems
Writing production-quality Python or Go code deployed on Linux system
Designing and implementing complex software systems for automated decision-making in aerospace and IoT contexts
Working with APIs, networking, and databases in operational environments
Building and maintaining CI pipelines and automated testing frameworks
Applying systems thinking to architecture, trade-offs, and problem breakdown
Contributing to code reviews and maintaining clean Git workflows
Shown practical experience in real-time mission critical autonomous software systems such as, but not limited to, aerospace, IoT, autonomous driving
Expertise in Software Architecture: Strong understanding and ability to design robust and scalable software solutions.
Practical experience building a scalable microservice architecture with an emphasis on reliability and availability.
Advanced programming skills (Python, Golang) and Git, Docker, Databases, Linux, Software Packaging
University degree in Computer Science, STEM/MINT, or equivalent
Strong problem solving capabilities
Familiarity with general software engineering principles and agile software development (think: “develop a concept, pitch it to your peers, implement a prototype, accompany the implementation, deploy to production, evaluate results, repeat”)
Fluent in English
