Job summary

IONOS Group's Cloud team seeks a seasoned Go developer to build and maintain a highly available NFS product on Kubernetes. You will design and extend Kubernetes Operators to manage lifecycle, improve replication and failover, and resolve complex distributed storage issues.

The role involves migrating from legacy components without service disruption and collaborating in a modern, hybrid workspace. Strong Go, Linux, and CI/CD skills are essential, along with experience in GitOps (ArgoCD) and

Qualifications

• Expert Go skills and several years of professional development experience.
• Experience developing Kubernetes Operators.
• Solid knowledge of NFS and SMB/CIFS, plus experience with ZFS and DRBD.
• Experience building highly available, redundant systems, including replication, failover and distributed-systems fundamentals (idempotency, retries, consistency, failure handling).
• Deep knowledge of Linux, including the kernel, and experience with LinuxKit and VMs (libvirt, QEMU, cloud-init).
• Fluency with Git, Docker, shell and CI/CD, including GitOps workflows (for example ArgoCD).
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) to monitor availability and troubleshoot issues.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants (for example Claude) in your development work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a structured, independent way of working in a team.
• Willingness to undergo a security clearance (SÜ-2).
