Snke in Munich is seeking a (Senior) Software Engineer – Data to design and operate data platforms for healthcare-focused R&D. You will build scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality and security, and collaborate with analysts and ML teams.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience in data engineering and modern data platform development.
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, and/or IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based solutions, ideally on AWS.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR or DICOM is a plus.

What You'll Do

As (Senior) Software Engineer -- Data at Snke you will help build and scale the data infrastructure that empowers our Research & Development teams to automate the testing and evaluation of medical software using large-scale datasets. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and operating modern data platforms, pipelines, and services that enable efficient data processing and analysis.

You will:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms and architectures.
• Design, develop, andmaintainrobust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build,deployand managedatastorage systems and databases, such as Apache Iceberg or MongoDB.
• Develop,optimizeand enforcedata quality, lineage, compliance, and security controlsacross the system.
• Writing Servicesfor data ingestion,accessand processing
• Collaborate with data analysts to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
• Document data models, processes, architectures, and best practices.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience in data engineering and modern data platform development.
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, and/or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based solutions, ideally on AWS.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR or DICOM is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and pragmatic approach to work.
• A collaborative mindset, excellent teamwork skills, and a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
