GetYourGuide, Berlin-based leader in travel experiences, seeks a senior software engineer to shape our Marketplace tech stack. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and analysts to build scalable features, run experiments, and continuously improve the codebase and deployment practices.

You will design modern architectures, write robust tests, and help drive adoption of new AI tools with strong governance while delivering high-quality, customer-centric solutions across Java, Vue.js,

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks.
• High proficiency in Java.
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services.
• Experience with writing tests.
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making.
• Able to lead adoption of AI tools with strong governance.

You will:

• Work with engineers, designers, and analysts
• Help to enable your mission team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments
• Maintain high-quality standards and continuously improve our code base, system, and processes
• Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale
• Mentor other team members and be involved with hiring
• Contribute to the team’s roadmap and long-term strategy
• Work with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, SASS, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Kafka, Kubernetes

Who you are:

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks
• High proficiency in Java
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with writing tests
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
• Mature judgment in choosing when and how to use AI tools, proactively lead the team in adopting and evaluating new AI technologies, and support others in applying AI effectively while maintaining strong standards for quality, security, and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others

Bonus points for:

• Knowledge of frameworks and toolchains such as Node.js, Vue.js, or similar component-based Frontend frameworks and libraries
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environments
