Annapurna Recruitment in Berlin-hybrid mode is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and deliver production-grade software using Java and Kotlin. The role involves owning features end-to-end, building event-driven microservices, and collaborating across teams to ensure reliability and quality.

You will work with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies in an agile environment, with frontend exposure beneficial but not essential.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and Kotlin development experience.
• Experience building scalable backend or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies (Kafka desirable).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other database technologies.
• Understanding of microservices, APIs and cloud-native development.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Comfortable working in Agile engineering teams.
• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript or Node.js would be beneficial but isn't essential.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of designing, building and delivering production-grade software within a modern engineering environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing and delivering scalable backend services using Java and Kotlin
• Owning features from technical design through to production deployment
• Building and maintaining event-driven microservices
• Working with Kafka and distributed systems architecture
• Collaborating with product, engineering and architecture teams during solution design
• Writing clean, well-tested, production-ready code
• Participating in code reviews and mentoring other engineers
• Using AI development tools to improve engineering productivity
• Supporting production systems and continuously improving platform reliability
