Stott and May is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Berlin-based engineering team on a hybrid basis. You will design, implement, and scale cloud-native systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and React, taking ownership from architecture to delivery.

You will mentor others, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with product and design to build secure, high-performance software across the stack in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifikationen

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js and React.
• Extensive full-stack software engineering experience.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join a high-performing engineering team.

This is a senior individual contributor position for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while remaining hands-on with development. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to design, build, and scale a sophisticated cloud-native platform.

You’ll play a key role in shaping technical direction, influencing architecture, mentoring other engineers, and delivering high-quality software across the full technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver scalable full-stack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and React

• Architect and implement cloud-native services and distributed systems

Skill and Experience
Essential

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
• Expertise with Node.js and React
• Extensive full-stack software engineering experience
• Experience designing and building microservices architectures
• Strong knowledge of AWS or other cloud-native platforms
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of testing practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience optimising application performance and scalability
• Strong architectural and technical documentation skills (e.g. ADRs, C4 Model)

Desirable

Experience with one or more of the following:

• Go (Golang)
• Java
• Rust
• C#
• Dart
• SDK, API, or CLI development
• Building security-focused, privacy-first, or highly regulated software platforms
