Contabo seeks a Senior Software Developer – Platform & Infrastructure Engineering to lead backend and infrastructure work for a new product line. You will design APIs and build primitives for authentication, compute, storage, and networking while coordinating with internal teams.

The role involves on-call responsibilities and high-availability initiatives within a remote-first, Germany-based setup. You will influence architecture decisions, work with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and virtualization

Qualifikationen

• Production experience with at least one modern backend language (Go, Python, Java or Rust).
• Experience designing and building APIs as stable interfaces for infrastructure consumption.
• Familiarity with IaaS provisioning stacks: OpenStack components (Nova/Ironic/Octavia).
• Kubernetes or comparable orchestration in production.
• Virtualization platforms (KVM/OpenStack or similar).
• Infrastructure-as-code: Terraform/Ansible.
• 10+ years combined experience; English fluent; German nice to have.

We live remote-first within **Germany**, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations. You’ll become an integral part of a new team which is going to be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Contabo's new product line. You’ll be part of a new team in a green field scenario making design, code and infrastructure decisions based on our product strategy and time-to-market. We’re looking for brave, pragmatic risk takers who find a balance between speed and perfectionism, who participate in on-call but also proactively work with the team on improving the redundancy of our systems. Your main focus is going to creating the business logic side of our new product line, which means authentication, exposing infrastructure primatives such as virtual servers, storage, networking but also accounts, project, feature flags and everything else that comes with it.
