Job summary

Mühlbauer GmbH & Co. KG in Germany seeks a PKI Architect to lead the design and development of PKI components and services. You will translate security needs into technical solutions and document architectural decisions, while providing technical leadership and mentoring to developers.

You will analyze complex cryptographic challenges, work with security, DevOps and application teams, and help shape policy and lifecycle management. Travel internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with PKI and cryptographic systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java, REST, SOAP and PKCS#11.
• Experience with HSMs and secure key management.
• Understanding security architecture and secure software development.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, code reviews and automated testing.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Excellent English skills and willingness to travel internationally.

Your tasks:

• Technical design and development of PKI components and services
• Translation of security and business requirements into technical solutions
• Architectural decisionmaking and documentation
• Further development and improvement of existing PKI solutions
• Provision of technical leadership and mentoring of software developers
• Code, architecture, and security reviews
• Analysis of complex certificate, cryptography, and production issues
• Close collaboration with security, infrastructure, DevOps and application teams
• Support in shaping the PKI architecture, certificate policy, and lifecycle management
• Ensuring security, availability, performance, and compliance requirements

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience of PKI and cryptographic systems
• Very strong knowledge of Java, REST, SOAP, PKCS#11
• Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and secure key management
• Knowledge of security architecture and secure software development
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
