Job summary

Hetzner Cloud GmbH seeks a Senior Software Developer (m/f/d) to build open-source integrations (SDKs, CLIs, IaC, Kubernetes components) using our API. You will focus on reliability, usability, and developer experience, collaborating with internal product teams across Germany.

You will contribute to API design, maintain documentation, and support users on GitHub, while maintaining high-quality code through CI/CD with GitHub Actions. Fluency in German and English is required.

(Senior) Software Developer (m/f/d) – Open Source Integrations

Our Hetzner Cloud team consists of around 80 employees and works both remotely across Germany and from our office in Munich (Unterföhring).

We are the Open Source Integrations team – the interface between our internal product teams and the open source community. Acting as the voice of our users, we bring feature requests, feedback and bug reports straight to the table and ensure that developers’ needs are taken into account in product decisions. We build open-source integrations such as SDKs, CLIs, Infrastructure-as-Code and Kubernetes components, making extensive use of our own APIs in the process.

Our focus is on delivering an excellent developer experience through usability, transparency and close communication. This also includes clear, comprehensive documentation, so that our tools are not only powerful but also easy to use. The annual salary for this position is between €68,000 and €101,000 gross. The exact salary level will be determined based on professional experience and the scope of responsibilities.

What you’ll do

As a Software Developer (m/f/d), you will develop and maintain open-source integrations based on our API which are used in production to provision thousands of virtual servers. You will also support our internal product teams in designing and evolving the API specification, with a strong focus on stability and ease of integration.

You will work closely with our internal product teams on API design and API specifications improvements

You will write and continuously improve clear, user-friendly documentation for your integrations

Through automated tests and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions you will ensure high quality

Your profile

You have solid experience in software development with Python, and ideally Go

You bring basic experience with open source projects, clean code and REST API design

You are confident in communicating with users and our internal teams

A structured, reliable and self-driven way of working is key to you

You speak and write German and English fluently
