Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG is hiring a Senior Software Developer to create a flexible, software-based simulation environment for medical imaging systems and to accelerate development, validation, and testing through realistic fault scenarios.

You will work with architects, developers, and test engineers in an agile, international setting, contributing to a scalable architecture and testing workflows that enable hardware-independent development.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Many years of professional software development experience, ideally in complex, distributed, or real-time systems.
• Experience building simulation, emulation, virtualization, and familiarity with CMake, .NET, Angular, or comparable environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted and agentic software development approaches, including tools such as GitHub Copilot, coding agents, or Agentic workflows.
• Proficiency with modern software engineering practices and technologies such as C#, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, REST APIs, and concepts like BDD or DDD.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, interface design, interoperability, and testability.
• Experience in image processing, medical imaging, or regulated environments is a plus.

Your qualifications and experience:

• You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You bring many years of professional experience in software development, ideally within complex, distributed, or real-time systems.
• You have proven experience building simulation, emulation, virtualization, and are familiar with technologies such as CMake, .NET10, Angular, or comparable environments.
• You have practical experience with AI-assisted and agentic software development approaches, including tools such as GitHub Copilot, coding agents, or Agentic workflows.
• You apply modern software engineering practices and are experienced with technologies such as C#, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, REST APIs, and concepts like BDD or DDD.
• You have a strong understanding of software architecture, interface design, interoperability, and testability principles.
• You ideally bring experience in image processing, medical imaging, or software development within regulated environments.

Your attributes and skills:

• You contribute to the development of maintainable and scalable solutions with a focus on quality and technical excellence.
• You work independently, take a structured approach to problem-solving, and drive topics proactively.
• You collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams and value knowledge sharing across disciplines and cultures.
• You communicate confidently in English; German language skills are an advantage.
