The Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) manages and leads the product definition and project for major projects. This role is responsible for:
- the major new products development pre-projects with Marketing and Design, technical design, cost and homologation, project schedule and budget management.
- the complex projects for continuous improvement and cost reduction
This permanent full-time position will report to the Head of Development and mainly collaborate with Style, Marketing, Technical designers, Prototypists, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality.
Job Responsibilities
- Product development
- Analyse marketing briefs and style design proposals
- Realize project feasibility studies
- Design products architectures proposals with key facts for exchange and decision-making: impact on style, on unit cost and investment, on project schedule, on products performances and quality
- Design and realize with development team most efficient deliverables to help decision-making: virtual and physical prototyping, style and technical mock ups, technical analysis and simulations, unit cost and budget estimations, project and product risk analysis
- Create and validate the product definition file (BOM, product specifications, …) referring to PDM process
- Create and validate the product design justification file (homologation, calculations,…) referring to Quality assurance processes
- Project management
- Plan and implement pre-projects: define scope, goals and deliverables
- Create and manage the product and project risk analysis
- Define project schedule and milestones referring to product development process and project brief
- Define tasks and required resources, manage project team
- Define and manage project budget
- Calculate unit cost with purchasing and production teams, report unit cost and margin
- Monitor and report on project KPI’s and progress
- Identify and resolve issues and risks
- Provide technical and management support to the project team to reach project requirements
- Implement change practices
- Technical leadership
- Identify best processes and technologies for virtual and physical prototyping with prototypists
- Identify best materials, technologies and suppliers to fulfill product requirements with technical designers
- Realize the Make or Buy study with Purchasing and Engineering teams
- Assure that product designs are competitive, evaluate and select optimum design alternatives
- Manage the homologation process for products and components with Homologation and Quality
- Communication and stakeholder management
- Monitor project communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Assure effective liaison with other functions and departments to obtain all cooperation and support required for the success of assigned projects
Profile
- An engineering/technical bachelor's degree
- At least 7 years of work experience in a similar position
- Solid experience in data management, data analysis and usage of relevant tools
- Result driven, strong analytical and critical skills
- Experience in process standardization with the ability to lead and coordinate across cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Ability to simplify and communicate on complex topics
- Practical, innovative and agile mindset, proactive and solution minded
- Fluency in English; German or French would be a plus
