The Opportunity:
Are you a proven Senior Project Manager with a deep understanding of complex electrical and mechanical systems?
We are currently partnering with a major engineering and construction organisation to deliver high-value, complex data centre and mission-critical projects across Düsseldorf.
This is a senior project leadership position taking complete end-to-end ownership—driving safety, programme schedules, subcontractor performance, and commercial execution on technically demanding builds.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Project Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery teams, championing high standards of safety, quality, and company culture.
- Programme & Delivery: Establish clear execution plans, monitor baseline progress, identify risks early, and implement proactive mitigations to keep projects on track.
- Technical Oversight: Act as the main point of escalation during critical project events and complex M&E technical challenges.
- Commercial & Contract Management: Oversee project budgets, track financial performance, manage contract change controls, and optimize overall commercial yield.
- Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management: Vet, resource, and manage key trade subcontractors and specialist suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with clients and client reps.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: 5+ years in a Senior Project Manager role within complex engineering or construction environments.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of data centre M&E infrastructure, including:
- Electrical: Switchgear, Transformers, UPS, Generators, STS/ATS units, PDUs, and Battery Banks.
- Mechanical & Safety: Air Handling Units, Chilled Water systems, Pre-Action Sprinklers & Fire Suppression.
- Qualifications: Professional Project Management qualification and/or a relevant engineering trade background.
- H&S Leadership: Proven experience conducting risk assessments, setting up safe systems of work, and ensuring strict site safety compliance.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the natural ability to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel and work internationally as project needs evolve.
