Jobbeschreibung

Senior Unreal Engine Programmer – Vehicular & Physics Systems

Fully Remote (Americas & Europe)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Unreal Engine Programmer to join an ongoing project that blends ground vehicles and aerial combat. You will work on a game already in active development, with the freedom (and expectation) to evaluate, improve, and revise existing architecture where it makes sense. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Unreal Engine’s systems and a strong background in physics simulation; particularly vehicular physics. Experience with Chaos Physics (or other physics systems) and aerial vehicles is highly desirable. Equally important are excellent communication and interpersonal skills: you will collaborate closely with a distributed team across Europe and the Americas.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, implement, and iterate on vehicle physics systems for both ground and aerial vehicles.
  • Work extensively with Chaos Physics and related Unreal Engine physics frameworks; evaluate and improve existing implementations.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to deliver responsive, fun, and technically solid vehicle handling and combat systems.
  • Review and refine existing architecture; nothing is sacred if it can be made better.
  • Write clean, maintainable, high-performance C++ code that follows Unreal Engine best practices and conventions.
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and planning sessions across time zones.
  • Mentor or support other team members as needed and contribute to a positive, collaborative remote culture.
What We’re Looking For
Required
  • Strong professional experience as an Unreal Engine programmer (senior level).
  • Excellent C++ skills and a deep understanding of Unreal Engine’s architecture, patterns, and “Unreal way” of doing things.
  • Solid experience with physics systems in Unreal (Chaos preferred; other physics middleware also valuable).
  • Proven ability to work on an existing codebase and improve systems already in development.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; clear written and verbal communication, constructive collaboration, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural team.
  • Comfortable working remotely with colleagues across multiple time zones.
Highly Desirable
  • Direct experience implementing or tuning vehicular physics (cars, tanks, or similar ground vehicles).
  • Experience with aerial vehicles / flight models in Unreal Engine.
  • Background in games that combine ground and air combat or large-scale vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with multiplayer networking considerations for vehicles (prediction, replication, etc.).
Location & Team

This is a fully remote position with an American company headquartered in New York. You will be part of a varied international team spanning Europe and the Americas. We value clear communication, mutual respect, and people who can work independently while staying well-connected with the rest of the team.

We look forward to hearing from strong technical contributors who also excel at communication and teamwork.
