The position reports to the Head of EU PR & PA, is part of the wider easyJet external communications department and the role will be based in Berlin. The PR and PA Manager for Germany and Austria will be expected to work closely with the Director of PR and Corporate Affairs, Country Directors/Managers, and the wider European PR and PA team to ensure that easyJet is effectively represented externally in these markets.
The role will be responsible for the management of easyJet’s communications activities in Germany and Austria, with a particular focus on the German base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), as well as network points in Hamburg (HAM), Munich (MUC), and Düsseldorf (DUS). In Austria, the role will support communications in relation to easyJet Europe and its Vienna‑based AOC (Air Operator Certificate).
This will include dealing directly with media, politicians and stakeholders in these countries as well as the (ad‑hoc) coordination of local PR and PA agencies. They will be easyJet’s eyes and ears in‑country and manage the airline’s reputation daily. They will love news and politics and will have proven experience of working with media.
They will also have excellent written skills and can grasp sometimes technical information and convert it into simple and understandable language. The role will be important to the overall communication strategy to protect and enhance the airline’s reputation and to promote its brand in its key European countries.
This full‑time role will be based in Berlin and will be 40 hours per week.
