Our client, a well-known company in the insurance industry, has asked us to find a Senior Platform Engineer (m / f / d) with Kubernetes experience and a Linux background. This means that you are well versed in IT operations tasks, especially Linux administration.
The client is at the beginning of their public cloud journey (AWS or Azure) and is looking for a doer (m / f / d) to drive their cloud readiness. You will not find entrenched structures here, but rather the opportunity to play an active role in building the container and hybrid cloud strategy.

Your tasks
- Cloud architecture consulting : Consulting and collaboration in the selection, testing and evaluation of modern, future‑proof IT architectures, in particular for cloud infrastructures and container platforms
- Platform setup (on‑premise) : You will be responsible for the administration and further development of the existing Kubernetes environment (based on SUSE Rancher on VMware)
- Platform operation : You will be responsible for the installation, administration and maintenance of the underlying server operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
- Cloud readiness : You actively shape the hybrid cloud architecture and prepare the migration of applications to the cloud (AWS or Azure)
- Future topics (AI) : You are responsible for the conception and integration of future AI infrastructures, evaluate possible applications and provide the platform for them.
- Resilience (DORA) : You will support the design of the infrastructure for our backup data centre in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. DORA).
Your profile
- Your basis : You have either completed a degree (e.g. computer science, business informatics) or relevant IT training (e.g. IT specialist).
- Your experience : Your professional experience is more important to us than the formal route. Depending on your educational background, you will have at least three or five years of practical experience in a suitable IT environment.
- Your specialist : You have sound technical knowledge in the breadth and depth of the specialist area. (SUSE Rancher, Linux)
- Automation (desirable) : Ideally, you already have knowledge of scripting, preferably in Ansible, Helm or shell scripting
- Communication : Good written and spoken German and English skills round off your profile.
