Job summary

Deutsche Bank Technology in Berlin is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable platform services and developer capabilities. You will work with Go, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform to enable fast, secure software delivery at scale.

You will drive automation, observability, and modern cloud-native practices while mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams to raise engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with a modern programming language; Golang preferred.
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on with Public Cloud, preferably GCP.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and observability.
• Strong focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity while using data responsibly.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Platform Engineer (f/m/x), you will design, build, and operate scalable platform services, cloud-native applications, and developer platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver software efficiently, securely, and at scale. Leveraging your expertise in Golang, distributed systems, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and modern AI-driven engineering practices, you will help shape the next generation of platform solutions and developer experiences across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate cloud-native platform services and distributed systems using Go/Golang, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Build and enhance platform automation, self-service workflows, APIs, and developer platform capabilities to streamline software delivery and improve developer productivity.
• Design and implement observability, telemetry, and reliability solutions, leveraging monitoring, logging, tracing, and SRE practices to ensure platform health and performance.
• Drive adoption of modern cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes patterns, GitOps practices, and software engineering best practices across the organization.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Your skills and experiences

• Strong software engineering experience with proficiency in a modern programming language. Professional experience with Golang is preferred
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong hands-on experience with Public Cloud (preferably GCP),
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and observability.
• Strong engineering mindset with a focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
