Zusammenfassung

GitLab, the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, is seeking a Senior People Analytics Analyst to translate people data into actionable insights across the People Technology & Analytics function. You will develop scalable reporting and advanced analyses in collaboration with cross‑functional partners.

No deep GitLab knowledge required at start; onboarding will provide context to succeed. You will own surveys, data models, and AI‑powered automation to scale analytics and decision

Qualifikationen

  • Experience in analytics, preferably People Analytics or Recruiting Analytics.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards with BI tools (Tableau/Power BI/Looker).
  • Advanced SQL skills and data modeling in large relational databases.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for statistics and automation.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys.

  • Create and maintain clear data definitions and reporting documentation.

An overview of this role

As a Senior People Analytics Analyst, you'll help GitLab use people data to make clear, informed decisions. The People Technology & Analytics Job Family owns the technology and reporting solutions that support GitLab's People team. Working in partnership with the People Leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders, you'll shape and deliver analytics solutions with a data-first mindset, from scalable reporting and advanced statistical analysis to survey strategy and workflow automation.

You don't need extensive GitLab or DevOps knowledge when you join. GitLab's onboarding and training program will provide the context you need to succeed in this role.

What you’ll do
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve reporting and dashboard solutions that meet cross-functional business needs.
  • Translate technical outputs into clear visualizations, summaries, and actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Write advanced SQL to build, validate, and maintain scalable data models with reusable business logic, and troubleshoot data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the Data team to manage data pipelines, automate manual workflows, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scale using artificial intelligence (AI) and other methods.
  • Apply statistical methods, including regression, forecasting, hypothesis testing, and survival analysis, to identify meaningful trends in people data.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for surveys at GitLab, including survey design consultation, platform configuration, implementation, factor analysis, text analysis, trend identification, and results analysis.
  • Own people analytics intake and office hours, helping stakeholders frame business questions, triage requests, and get value from existing reporting solutions.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for data definitions, business rules, analytical methods, and reporting solutions.
What you’ll bring
  • Experience in analytics, preferably within People Analytics, Recruiting Analytics, or a closely related function.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including experience building and maintaining analytical data models in large-scale relational databases.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis, data preparation, and workflow automation.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing team member surveys.
  • Strong data visualization and storytelling skills, with the ability to develop and deliver presentations for senior and executive audiences.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce well-organized reference materials.
  • Experience with Workday reporting and data extraction, people systems such as Greenhouse or Culture Amp, or AI experimentation and automation in analytics workflows is helpful but not required.

The People Technology & Analytics Job Family owns the technology and reporting solutions at GitLab. Working in partnership with the People Leadership team, the group plays both a strategic and tactical role in setting the direction for GitLab's people technology and analytics strategy. The team helps stakeholders use reliable data, clear reporting, and scalable processes to make informed decisions.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the United States only. This range is intended to reflect the role's base salary rate in locations throughout the US. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, alignment with market data,and geographic location. The base salary range does not include any bonuses, equity, or benefits. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

United States Salary Range

$115,000 – $194,000 USD
