Job summary

STARK in Berlin seeks a Senior Media and Communications Officer to lead Germany-focused media relations, content development, and strategic messaging. You will collaborate with the VP Media Relations to build the company’s reputation across Europe, translating complex defence topics into clear, compelling narratives in English and German.

You’ll draft press materials, pitch stories, monitor coverage, and support major announcements and leadership engagements while maintaining message consistency

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in communications, journalism, or media relations, preferably within the defence or security sectors.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape in Germany and Europe, with a proven track record of securing coverage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English (native-level fluency in at least one)
• Experience managing sensitive and high-stakes media moments, including crisis communications
• Able to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling messaging
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure

YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Media and Communications Officer (All Genders) to support our growing communications team. Based in Berlin, the successful candidate will play a key role in building the company’s reputation across Germany and internationally, with a particular focus on media relations, content development, and strategic messaging.
