Zusammenfassung

Fichtner is seeking a mechanical engineer to advise on hydropower projects worldwide. You will conduct feasibility studies, develop conceptual designs, and prepare project documentation while coordinating surveys and on-site testing. A strong team player with German and English proficiency is essential, and readiness to travel 20–25% is expected.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in mechanical engineering or similar qualification.
• Extensive professional experience in power plant engineering, ideally hydropower.
• Team player with intercultural experience.
• Very good command of German and English; additional languages are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Advising clients on electromechanical and mechanical engineering aspects of hydropower plants worldwide.
• Conducting feasibility studies and detail engineering.
• Preparing conceptual designs, studies, plans and project documentation.
• Carrying out surveys, inspections and assessments for hydropower rehabilitation projects.
• Compiling tender dossiers, technical specifications and contract documents.
• Reviewing documents of contractors and suppliers.
• Participating in on-site tests and supervising installation and commissioning of equipment and systems for hydropower plants in Germany and abroad.

Your Tasks

• Advising our clients all over the world on electromechanical and mechanical engineering aspects of hydropower plants

• Conducting surveys, inspections and assessments of facilities in due diligence and rehabilitation projects for existing hydropower plants
• Compiling tender dossiers, technical specifications and contract documents
• Reviewing the documents of contractors and suppliers
• Taking part in on-site tests and supervising the installation and commissioning of equipment and systems for hydropower plants in Germany and abroad

Your Profile

• University degree in mechanical engineering or a similar qualification
• Extensive professional experience in the field of power plant engineering, ideally specializing in hydropower projects
• Team player who enjoys working in an intercultural environment
• A very good command of German and English, while additional language skills would be an advantage
• Willingness to travel as part of projects (approx. 20-25%)
