Job summary

Fichtner seeks an experienced professional to lead project management for large-scale PV, PV-hybrid, and BESS projects in an Owner’s Engineer or PMC role. You will collaborate with international partners, conduct site visits, and support sales activities across diverse phases including feasibility, tendering, construction, and handover.

The successful candidate has 10+ years in PV project planning and 5+ years advising on international PV projects, with strong German/English skills and

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of experience designing and implementing large-scale PV systems.
• Minimum five years as a technical advisor on international PV and PV-hybrid projects.
• BESS experience is advantageous; engineering degree required.

Responsibilities

• Manage PV, PV-hybrid and BESS projects as Owner’s Engineer or PMC across phases.
• Provide occasional project engineering support within the department.
• Lead and participate in due diligence on international projects.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners and conduct site visits.
• Support sales activities and client communications.

• Project management in the fields of PV, PV-hybrid and BESS in the role of Owner’s Engineer or Project Management Consultant (PMC) during various project phases, such as feasibility studies, tendering, construction supervision, handover and operation


• Occasional support for other projects within the department as a project engineer


• Leading and participating in due diligence projects in Germany and worldwide


• Close collaboration and coordination with internal and external project partners


• Conducting site visits and meetings during various project phases


• Actively supporting sales activities


• At least ten years’ professional experience in the planning, design and implementation of large-scale (utility-scale) PV systems


• At least five years’ relevant experience as a technical advisor on large-scale international PV and PV-hybrid projects


• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a strong advantage


• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, such as electrical engineering, energy engineering, civil engineering or a comparable discipline


• An open and friendly approach when dealing with project partners from different cultural backgrounds


• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with international colleagues


• Excellent command of German and English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage


• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


• Willingness to travel for project-related work
