Job summary

Benjamin, a Berlin-based fintech startup, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own the full ML lifecycle from problem framing to production deployment on AWS. You will design, train, deploy and monitor models powering the Benjamin Money Moments platform.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of Python development, 3+ years of DS/ML tool experience (PyTorch, MLflow, NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and a proven track record of production ML.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Python software development, with strong engineering practices: testing, code review, CI/CD, Git, and working with AWS and SQL.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with DS/ML tools and frameworks such as PyTorch, MLflow, NumPy, pandas and scikit-learn.
• A track record of building, deploying and maintaining ML models in production, not only in notebooks.
• Comfort owning the whole ML development cycle: EDA, prototyping, productionizing, and building and operating (re)training and evaluation pipelines.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues, and the judgment to balance model quality against delivery speed.

Responsibilities

• Build and run training, retraining and evaluation pipelines, including experiment tracking and model versioning with MLflow.
• Set up monitoring for model performance, data quality and drift, and act on what it shows.
• Write well-tested, maintainable Python and ship through CI/CD on AWS.
• Partner with data engineering on reliable, efficient data pipelines and SQL-based feature work.
• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, design discussions and mentoring other engineers and data scientists.
