Role Summary

As the Sr. Lead, HR Business Partner & Compensation Partner (Europe), you will work closely with leaders and employees in the CTO and COO organizations, driving key People strategies across Europe. You will combine strategic HR business partnering with compensation expertise, shaping compensation frameworks, talent development, and organizational design. This role is ideal for a strategic, analytical, and collaborative HR individual who thrives in a fast‑paced global environment. This is a Flex/Hybrid role located in Berlin, Germany, and reports directly to a Director of HR.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to leaders on organizational design, leadership development, performance, and team health.
  • Lead and advise on compensation planning cycles in Europe, including merit, promotions, equity programs, and retention strategies.
  • Partner with global teams to ensure compensation decisions are fair, data‑driven, and aligned with local markets and global frameworks.
  • Provide hands‑on coaching to managers and leaders to build high‑performing, inclusive, and engaged teams.
  • Drive cross‑functional HR projects focused on career leveling frameworks and organizational change initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR policies, compliance, and employee relations for Germany, in partnership with Legal.
  • Support the delivery of people programs and provide day‑to‑day HR support for queries and complex, sensitive employee relations issues.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or People Partner experience, ideally in global tech environments.
  • Strong expertise in compensation practices, frameworks, and workforce planning across European markets.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Engineering, Product, or Technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex HR transformations and change initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global HR systems (Workday preferred), analytics tools, and compensation benchmarking platforms.
  • Strong business acumen, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to ensure HR consistency and alignment while maintaining compliance with local labor law (especially German labor law).
