Zusammenfassung

ZEISS in Oberkochen, Germany, is seeking an experienced engineer to take end-to-end ownership for integration and qualification of complex semiconductor equipment. You will define strategies across modules, validate interactions, and drive improvements to tool behavior and reliability.

Qualifikationen

  • Several years of practical experience in semiconductor equipment, complex electro- mechanical systems, automation, robotics, system integration, system test, or production- near engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of system qualification, integration testing, acceptance criteria, verification logic, interface validation, and structured assessment of complex tool behavior.
  • Hands-on mindset in laboratory, cleanroom, prototype, commissioning, or production- near environments, with the ability to translate tool observations and data into technical decisions.
  • Experience in analyzing technical issues using data, logs, test observations, and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, Ishikawa, FMEA, fault tree analysis, or comparable approaches.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with interdisciplinary and international teams, and to align technical decisions across engineering functions, project stakeholders, and operational interfaces.
  • Strong ownership mindset, high level of structure, and the ability to create transparency in technically complex or unclear situations.
  • Very good English skills; German language skills are an advantage and willingness to travel

  • Create and improve structured documentation on status, root causes, countermeasures, and risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement of system robustness, availability, serviceability, and readiness.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and establish standards and best practices.

Your Role
  • Take end-to-end technical ownership for the integration, qualification, and maturity development of complex system functions within advanced semiconductor equipment
  • Define, drive, and continuously improve integration and qualification strategies across modules, subsystems, interfaces, operating modes, recovery concepts, and overall tool behavior
  • Validate the interaction between subsystem functions, control logic, user interfaces, safety concepts, diagnostics, recovery behavior, and operational workflows
  • Structure complex technical issues, break them down into clear problem statements, and drive cross- functional decisions with transparent ownership and follow-up
  • Lead structured root cause analysis for system integration incidents and translate findings into corrective actions, design improvements, improved test coverage, and lessons learned
  • Support and guide prototype build, commissioning, factory acceptance, system qualification, production transfer, and early customer ramp-up for integration-relevant functions
  • Create and improve structured documentation for integration status, problem descriptions, root causes, countermeasures, verification results, risk assessments, decision history, and ownership of follow-up actions
  • Drive continuous improvement of system robustness, availability, serviceability, integration efficiency, and customer readiness
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, support decision-making in critical integration phases, identify risks early, and help establish standards, methods, and best practices for repeatable system qualification and production transfer
Your Profile
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Technology, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Several years of practical experience in semiconductor equipment, complex electro- mechanical systems, automation, robotics, system integration, system test, or production- near engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of system qualification, integration testing, acceptance criteria, verification logic, interface validation, and structured assessment of complex tool behavior
