Siemens seeks an experienced Senior HW Platform Expert to drive embedded electronics across its industrial automation portfolio. You will lead at the interface of hardware development, supplier management, procurement, manufacturing and technology strategy to build reusable platform building blocks.

You will shape hardware platforms, drive roadmaps, and contribute to material and component strategies, enabling product teams worldwide to accelerate innovation through standardized and scalable

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 8 years of hardware development experience in industrial or automotive systems.
• Experience in architecture development and hardware platform creation.
• Strong understanding of component lifecycle management and semiconductor technologies.
• Experience working with global development organizations and external suppliers.
• Ability to influence technical decisions beyond project boundaries.
• Strong embedded hardware platform, FPGA, EMI & signal integrity, and product lifecycle management.

In this role, you will act as a technical leader at the interface of hardware development, supplier management, procurement, manufacturing, and technology strategy. You will identify emerging technologies, transform them into reusable hardware platform building blocks, and enable product teams worldwide to accelerate innovation through standardized and scalable solutions.

You will play a key role in shaping hardware platforms, driving technology roadmaps, and contributing to company-wide material and component strategies.

Technology Scouting & Future Platform Management

• Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, semiconductor trends, embedded computing platforms and electronic components.
• Assess technical maturity, lifecycle risks, availability, cost competitiveness, reliability, and sustainability of new technologies.
• Derive technology roadmaps and recommendations for future product platforms and align them with the needs of the HW product development.

Hardware Platform & Building Block Development

• Identify common hardware requirements across product lines.
• Transform proven concepts into scalable reference designs and platform assets for worldwide reuse
• Establish best practices for hardware reuse, modularization, and platform-based development.

Engineering Support & Technical Consulting

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to global hardware development teams.
• Support projects in selecting and integrating approved building blocks.
• Provide guidance on component selection, architecture decisions, risk assessments, and technology adoption.

Material Strategy & Supplier Collaboration

• Represent R&D in global Material Strategy Teams
• Contribute to company-wide component and semiconductor strategies.
• Define preferred technology directions and approved platform components.

You excel in

• Education
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems / Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in hardware development for industrial or automotive systems.
  • Proven experience in architecture development and hardware platform creation.
  • Strong understanding of component lifecycle management and semiconductor technologies.
  • Experience working with global development organizations and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions beyond project boundaries.
