THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer in the Transport Technology team of the Tech Logistics department you will contribute to designing and developing systems to support the delivery of millions of items to our customers.

You will be part of a brand new team in Berlin to concentrate on transport capacities - determining and visualizing transport capacities based on forecasts as well as ad hoc transports for both last and middle mile. You will be having a huge impact on the performance and cost efficiency of the entire transport domain at Zalando logistics but it doesn’t end here - your work will also enable you to continuously grow and learn as a software engineer.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
• Designing, developing, deploying, operating & improving maintainable software solutions that will improve and affect the performance and cost effectiveness of the entire transportation domain at Zalando logistics
• With your expertise you will help to define and shape the team and development processes and to plan our sprints and roadmaps by breaking down new and existing feature requests into manageable stories and tasks
• Implementing and fully testing new features before deploying them to production using a continuous delivery model
• Communicating with designers, product managers and stakeholders to build products which improve the processes of our users.
• Continuously improving the code base and your skillset as a software engineer, as well as helping your colleagues to do so
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
• You have proven experience in React, NodeJS and their ecosystems
• Strong grasp of JavaScript and have experience with TypeScript
• You demonstrate expertise in microservice architecture, distributed systems, RESTful APIs as well as know-how to build user-friendly web applications with great user experience
• You are experienced with implementing, maintaining and operating microservices using JVM technologies - preferably Java / Kotlin or you are willing to learn it quickly
• You have a strong sense of reliability, of responsibility, and ownership. Entrepreneurial & analytical thinking add to your excellent communication skills and willingness to share knowledge
• You have experience in all parts of the software development life-cycle, from understanding the requirements to software development, build, test, deployment and operations
