Job summary

ABOUT YOU SE & Co. KG is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for the Campaign Engine to build and scale a new self-service campaign management product.

You will contribute across PHP/Laravel APIs and React UI components, driving end-to-end delivery in an autonomous, greenfield-like team. The role emphasizes strong backend in PHP 8 with Laravel, frontend in TypeScript/React, contract-first API design, and production observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience building and scaling production web applications.
• Deep backend expertise in PHP 8 and Laravel, including RESTful APIs and MySQL schema design.
• Strong frontend proficiency in TypeScript and React (or Vue), with typed API clients.
• Contract-first API design using OpenAPI/TypeSpec, with automated tests (PHPUnit/Vitest/Playwright).
• Experience with production tooling and observability (Git, CI/CD, AWS, Redis, Datadog/Sentry).
• True end-to-end ownership and proactive communication with product teams.

Responsibilities

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end across PHP/Laravel APIs and React UI components.
• Lead technical feature design and build background jobs, REST endpoints, and MySQL migrations.
• Work on high-precision domain logic covering CPC bidding, ad budgets, and campaign eligibility.
• Keep frontend and backend synchronized through strictly typed API contracts (OpenAPI/TypeSpec).
• Own production stability end-to-end, from automated tests to AWS ECS deployments and alerting.
• Balance engineering rigor on billing/budget flows with fast UI feature iterations.
• Review full-stack code, optimize queries, and leverage AI tools in daily work.
• Partner with Product to break down features, estimate effort, and ship in small iterations.

The Campaign Engine is a completely new product: its mission is to enable self-service campaign management for Retail Media Partners, giving them direct access to AY's unique loyalty frameworks: Missions & Coupons. This creates a compelling opportunity for partners to drive customer acquisition and incremental engagement within AY's existing customer base. Operating within an existing ecosystem, our evolution into specialized product teams provides an autonomous, greenfield-like environment.

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end across PHP/Laravel APIs and React UI components
• Lead technical feature design and build background jobs, REST endpoints, and MySQL migrations
• Work on high-precision domain logic covering CPC bidding, ad budgets, and campaign eligibility
• Keep the frontend and backend synchronized through strictly typed API contracts (OpenAPI/TypeSpec)
• Own production stability end-to-end, from writing automated tests to AWS ECS deployments and Datadog/Sentry alerting
• Balance strict engineering rigor on billing/budget flows with fast iteration on exploratory UI features
• Review full-stack code, optimize queries, and leverage modern AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code) in daily work
• Partner with Product to break down features, estimate effort, and ship in short, agile iterations

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience building and scaling production web applications (computer science degree or equivalent hands-on experience)
• Deep backend expertise in PHP 8 and Laravel, including RESTful APIs, background queues, input validation, and high-performance MySQL schema design and query tuning
• Strong frontend proficiency in TypeScript and React (or Vue), with solid hands-on experience managing server state and working with typed API clients
• Contract-first API design skills using OpenAPI/TypeSpec, backed by a strong habit of writing full-stack automated tests (PHPUnit, Vitest, Playwright)
• Familiarity with production tooling and observability, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Redis, Datadog/Sentry monitoring, and modern AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code)
• True end-to-end ownership: You take complete accountability for features, guiding them smoothly from early ideation to a healthy production state
• A pragmatic, adaptable mindset: You focus on delivering iterative value over over-engineering, staying autonomous and effective even when project scopes evolve
• Clear communication and strong collaboration: You can translate complex technical trade-offs for product teams and enjoy sharing knowledge during peer code reviews

Nice to have

• Ad-tech, marketplace, bidding/budgeting or eCommerce domain experience.
• Experience with React
• Experience with Laravel (Eloquent, Horizon)
• Ant Design (or a similar enterprise component library), MobX or similar state management, and styled-components.
• Static analysis and automation (PHPStan/Larastan, Rector, ESLint) and Nx monorepos.
