Octopus Energy in Berlin is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to help scale our web platform using Next.js, React and GraphQL. You will shape architecture, implement SSR patterns, and champion accessibility across our apps.

Collaborating with international teams, you will drive robust frontends, participate in code reviews, and mentor peers while delivering high-quality user experiences.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive experience with modern JS frameworks (Next.js, Remix, Vue)

Requirements

• Deep and profound experience with modern JS frameworks (Next.js, Remix, Vue, etc.)
• Expertise in the architecture of scalable web applications using modern patterns (server-side rendering, server components, etc.)
• Experience taking problems, rather than strict guidelines, and developing well fitting solutions, collaborating with others where necessary
• A keen eye for and expertise in accessibility — it's an integral part of your workflow, not an afterthought
• Clear thoughts on how to spend your time in the most impactful way. There’s always enough to do, but not everything is equally important
• Excellent proactive communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Conscious and responsible use of LLMs (Large Language Models) to assist with coding: you stay in control — AI is your tool, not the other way around
• English (C1 or above): Required for day-to-day collaboration with international engineering teams, code reviews, technical documentation, and participation in cross-team discussions
• German (C1 or above): Required for effective communication with local stakeholders and business partners
• Python knowledge — our language of choice in the backend
• Experience in the energy sector
• Experience in adjacent fields (Backend, Infrastructure, UX Design etc.)
