Octopus Tech Germany is seeking a frontend-focused engineer to help build scalable, accessible web applications using Next.js, React, and GraphQL. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, operations, and data to ship high-impact features in a fast-paced environment.

We value strong communication, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to applying modern patterns, SSR, and accessibility.

Qualifikationen

• Deep and profound experience with modern JS frameworks (Next.js, Remix, Vue, etc.).
• Expertise in scalable web app architectures (SSR, server components, etc.).
• Ability to turn problems into fitting solutions through collaboration.
• Strong accessibility focus embedded in workflow.
• Efficient time management to prioritize impact.
• Excellent proactive communication with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Conscious use of LLMs to assist with coding; AI is a tool.
• English (C1) for collaboration with international teams; German (C1) for local stakeholders.

What You'll Have

• Deep and profound experience with modern JS frameworks (Next.js, Remix, Vue, etc.)
• Expertise in the architecture of scalable web applications using modern patterns (server-side rendering, server components, etc.)
• Experience taking problems, rather than strict guidelines, and developing well fitting solutions, collaborating with others where necessary
• A keen eye for and expertise in accessibility — it's an integral part of your workflow, not an afterthought
• Clear thoughts on how to spend your time in the most impactful way. There's always enough to do, but not everything is equally important
• Excellent proactive communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Conscious and responsible use of LLMs (Large Language Models) to assist with coding: you stay in control — AI is your tool, not the other way around
• English (C1 or above): Required for day-to-day collaboration with international engineering teams, code reviews, technical documentation, and participation in cross-team discussions
• German (C1 or above): Required for effective communication with local stakeholders and business partners

Nice to Have

• Python knowledge — our language of choice in the backend
• Experience in the energy sector
• Experience in adjacent fields (Backend, Infrastructure, UX Design etc.)
