Job summary

Clera is seeking a Senior Founding Product Engineer to own the engineering stack—from frontend to cloud deployment—and ship features for an AI-native regulatory and product compliance platform aimed at manufacturers and retailers.

You will work directly with users to shape product direction, turn roadmap priorities into value, and help scale the codebase as the product grows in a fast-paced early-stage startup environment. Bilingual German/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Ability to ship features based on roadmap priorities.
• Experience with B2B SaaS/RegTech/AI/ML is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English.

About the Role

Join an early-stage team building an AI-native regulatory and product compliance platform for manufacturers and retailers. As a Senior Founding Product Engineer, you will own engineering across the stack, ship product features, and work directly with users to help shape the product direction.

What You'll Do

• Own the software and infrastructure stack, from frontend and backend development through cloud deployment.

• Turn roadmap priorities into shipped features that deliver value to users.

• Speak with customers to understand their needs and inform product decisions.

• Maintain, refactor, and scale the codebase as the product grows.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of full-time software engineering experience and a track record of shipping products to real users.

• Strong product judgment, a user-focused approach, and the ability to develop solutions that address needs across customers.

• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Azure, and Google Cloud.

• Experience in early-stage startups and comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration.

• A daily AI-assisted development workflow using AI agents and tools.

• Fluency in German and English; experience with B2B SaaS, LegalTech, RegTech, or AI/ML is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: €80,000 to €90,000.

Location

Hybrid in Munich, Germany, with four days per week on-site.
