Job summary

STARK is seeking a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer to advance high-fidelity simulation models for autonomous aerial systems. You will analyze flight test data, develop robust models, and mentor engineers to ensure simulations meet real‑world demands.

Join a defense-technology team delivering AI-driven software and multi-domain solutions. You will collaborate with Flight Dynamics and Control groups, integrate MATLAB/Simulink with C++, and drive performance and fidelity in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in senior engineering roles.
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink proficiency and data-analysis skills.
• Experience with aircraft simulation and system identification.
• Excellent English communication; German is a plus.

About the Team

The Flight Dynamics team at STARK is dedicated to developing high-fidelity simulation models for our autonomous aerial systems. We work closely with the Flight Control team as well as program engineering teams across various projects.

Your Mission

As Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will own the evolution of our simulation model architecture and flight dynamics models to maximize simulation fidelity. You will analyze flight test data for system identification, build programs to replicate product–environment interactions, and mentor team members in model development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine flight dynamics models to improve simulation accuracy and performance.
• Analyze flight test data to perform system identification and validate model behavior.
• Define and evolve the overall model architecture within the simulation environment.
• Coach and mentor team members working alongside you on model development.
• Investigate and resolve engineering challenges related to simulation performance and model fidelity.
• Build and maintain simulation programs to replicate product–environment interactions without real-world testing.
• Develop models primarily in MATLAB/Simulink, with integration of C ++ where required.
• Collaborate closely with the Flight control team and program engineering teams to support simulation‑related needs across projects.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar relevant areas of expertise.
• 6+ years of experience in similar positions.
• Proven experience in dynamic systems modeling and aircraft simulation.
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Expertise in data analysis and system identification, extracting system behavior and parameters from test data.
• Demonstrated contribution to projects that reached a tested or operational stage.
• Excellent communication skills in English (German is considered a plus).

Nice‑To‑Have

• Experience with deployment and integration of simulation models (CI/CD).
• Programming skills (e.g., C, Python, or other languages) for task automation and model enhancement.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills to communicate complex technical insights clearly.
