At Franklin Templeton Investments we are dedicated to delivering strong results and exceptional service to clients, team members and business partners. Over 10,000 employees working in 60 offices across the world provide investment solutions to our clients in more than 150 countries. For over 75 years our success has been a direct result of the talent, skills and persistence of our people and we are looking for a Senior ETF Sales Specialist for ETFs to join our ETF business in EMEA based in Frankfurt.

About the Department

Franklin Templeton launched its first ETFs in Europe back in 2017 focusing on indexed strategies initially and has since then also been one of the early pioneers for actively managed ETFs. Our goal is to provide investors a range of building blocks to help achieve their objectives, initially focusing on niche areas where we have a strong heritage and expertise (like emerging markets) and more recently into core parts of the portfolio such as U.S. equities or income.

Our company, right from the beginning, has been deeply committed to making it a success and with more than $50 billion of ETF assets globally is definitely on a path to achieve significant progress.

This is a new position based in Frankfurt focusing on leveraging our existing relationships at Franklin Templeton to sell our ETF proposition but also to identify pure‑ETF buyers and cover clients directly.

The Senior ETF Sales Specialist will work very closely with the existing ETF Sales Team on the ground and Generalists in Germany & Austria.

How you will add value
  • Be the ambassador of our ETF business in Germany & Austria (position based in the Frankfurt office). Acts as a trusted adviser to prospects and clients positioning Franklin Templeton products and services.
  • Achieve sales and client retention targets by actively managing all relevant activities throughout the sales process.
  • Drive results by raising awareness of Franklin Templeton’s investment capabilities and services through targeted prospecting activities. These activities may include cold calling, face‑to‑face meetings, targeted mailings, hosting seminars and attending industry conferences.
  • Gather and develop a deep understanding of the market dynamics in Germany and new developments in regulation.
  • Support B2B sales relationships with key accounts such as asset managers, banks, funds of fund managers and family offices and contribute to the planning and execution of sales activities.
  • Support the development and execution of a strategic B2B sales plan for key accounts to efficiently identify new business opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively across the organisation, sharing market insights, client intelligence and relevant data to support decision‑making. Maintain familiarity with internal reporting and performance metrics.
  • Build strong relationships with the existing ETF Team EMEA ensuring smooth communication about any aspect of our ETF business.
  • Maintain and ensure a high degree of accuracy of prospect information and sales activity on the CRM system.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative in the effort to develop and improve sales and marketing materials (i.e. pitch books, presentations and other sales materials).
  • Participate in the product launch pipeline and help define ETFs that we need to launch for the year.
What will help you be successful in this role
  • Bachelor’s degree ideally within the field of Finance and/or economics or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 years professional experience in ETF sales required / strongly preferred.
  • Ideally CFA or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of the financial market in Germany & Austria, preferably on the following segments: discretionary managers, family offices, asset managers, banks.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of consultative selling skills and an ability to work alongside existing sales teams.
  • Good working knowledge of the investment industry and investment management techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written German and English communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to network and leverage opportunities within the market.
  • Ability to navigate complex organisations on multiple levels and geographies and build internal networks.
  • Results focused and a self‑starter.
