Redcare Pharmacy is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and build scalable AdTech solutions within its Retail Media ecosystem. You will work across the stack—from Node.js microservices to React interfaces—focusing on clean architecture, data performance, and robust, user-centric development.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, sprint planning, and delivering end-to-end features. Occasional on-site work in Berlin or Cologne may be required, with the role offering a remote-friendly

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Node.js/TypeScript-based microservices for performance and scalability.
• Build and maintain React applications using Next.js and Material-UI.
• Integrate and optimize real-time data systems with MongoDB, Redis, and Algolia; manage messaging with BullMQ and RabbitMQ.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Analytics to deliver end-to-end Retail Media features.

About the role:

As aSenior Engineer (m/f/d)in theRetail Media Ad Solutions area, you will play a critical role in designing and building high-performance, scalable AdTech solutions that power our growing Retail Media ecosystem. You'll work across the stack, from backend services to customer-facing interfaces, with a strong focus on clean architecture, data performance, and user-centric development. Working closely with your cross-functional team, you’ll help turn complex business needs into robust, end-to-end technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.

About the tech stack:

React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Koa.js, NestJS, MongoDB, Redis, BullMQ, RabbitMQ, Algolia, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Google Cloud Platform, CircleCI, ArgoCD, and integrations with modern ad-serving platforms.

While this is a remote position based in Germany, it may require occasional on-site collaboration at our offices in Berlin or Cologne, depending on business and team requirements.

About your tasks:

• System Architecture & Engineering:Develop and optimizeNode.js/TypeScript-based microservices, focusing on performance, modularity, and scalability. Contribute to architectural decisions that improve system maintainability and reliability.
• Frontend Development:Build and maintainReactapplications usingNext.js (Pages Router)andMaterial-UI.Implement advanced form logic usingFormikandJSONSchemavalidation.Ensure exceptional user experiences through responsive, accessible, and high-performance UI.
• Data & Messaging Systems:Integrate and optimize high-throughput data systems usingMongoDB,Redis, andAlgoliafor real-time ad delivery and insights.Work withBullMQandRabbitMQto handle reliable, distributed message queuing and background processing.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to deliver end-to-end Retail Media features. Participate in sprint planning, technical reviews, and solution discovery to ensure engineering is aligned with business goals.

About you:

• Deep experience buildingscalable microservicesandfrontend applicationsin cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity withAdTechorRetail Mediaplatforms (eg such as Kevel, Google Ad Manager, CitrusAd, TopSort) will be looked upon favourably.
• Committed to writingclean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a strong focus onscalability, testing, and long-term system health.
• Comfortable working inAgile/Scrumteams and contributing proactively to cross-functional initiatives.
• A continuous learner who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys solving real-world business challenges with technology.
• Have AI experience, have integrated it into real systems and shipped features with it.
