SAP Cloud Infrastructure seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and operate scalable cloud platforms. You will lead Openstack, VMware, and KVM based infrastructures, ensuring resilient delivery and security.

This is a customer-facing role requiring fluent German and English, 24/7 on-call readiness, and collaboration with the SAP Cloud Infrastructure team. Join a global team improving our external-facing IaaS, driving reliability, observability, and continuous improvement across regions.

What you'll bring:

You have proven expertise in independently operating, scaling, and improving cloud-based platforms, with deep hands‑on experience applying DevOps best practices end to end. Strong technical leadership in Openstack, VMware and KVM Hypervisors is required to build and maintain resilient, repeatable delivery pipelines. A deep understanding of cloud architecture, platform systems, identity and access management and observability in complex production environments is expected. Extensive experience leading incident management, root cause analysis, and proactive reliability engineering, then translating those operational insights into system improvements, is also part of the profile. A mature AI adoption capability, including agentic AI practices, context engineering, and AI output quality assurance, is part of how you work. This is a customer facing role. Profound communication skills in German and English are mandatory. This role requires participating in 24/7 On-Call duty.

For this job a VS-NfD instruction based on German GHB Anlage 4 as well as Security Clearance SÜ2 is required. These processes will be handled by SAP, but a successful passing is mandatory.

You will build and run SAP Cloud Infrastructures external facing Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution. As part of the Customer Support team you will be part of the first line of defense. To enhance our customers experience you will continuously work on improving our support, as well as the product itself.
