LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a Data Scientist to conduct experiments on large datasets to evaluate the feasibility, results, and performance of NLP and LLM solutions. You will help improve software development practices with a focus on performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include data analysis and modeling, data collection and preparation, ML/AI development, data visualization, collaboration with data engineers and domain experts, and documentation for reproducibility.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in data science, ML, or AI with impactful projects.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with generative AI models and techniques (LLMs, GANs).
• Expertise in prompt engineering for fine-tuning language models.
• Familiar with RAG and tuning/evaluation approaches.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and ML algorithms.

About the Role

The Data Scientist role conduct experiments on large datasets to evaluate the feasibility, results, and performance of NLP& LLM (Large Language Model). This DS make sound engineering decisions and improve software development practices with an eye for performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Modeling: Perform advanced data analysis, modeling, and machine learning to develop predictive and prescriptive models that drive business outcomes.
• Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets, ensuring data quality and reliability.
• Machine Learning and AI: Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and AI solutions to solve complex business problems.
• Data Visualization: Create informative and compelling data visualizations to communicate results and insights to stakeholders effectively.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and domain experts, to identify opportunities and address business challenges.
• Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in data science and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
• Model Deployment: Assist in the deployment of machine learning models into production environments.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, models, and code for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (4-6 years) working in data science, machine learning, or AI, with a track record of delivering impactful projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, as well as relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with generative AI models and techniques (e.g., LLMs, GANs) for content generation.
• Expertise in prompt engineering for fine-tuning language models like GPT-4 or similar models.
• Familiar with RAG and related tuning & evaluation approaches
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data manipulation techniques.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
