Senior Data Scientist (all genders)

At Diconium, we do digital business transformation across various industries. As a team member, you will work on projects that generate value from software, data, and AI by delivering strategies and solutions that challenge conventional industry practices and drive technological progress.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of machine learning algorithms and models to address our clients’ business challenges.
• Extraction of valuable insights from large and unstructured data sources.
• Creation and leadership in the development of AI/ML-driven solutions for predictive analytics, recommendation systems, and process automation.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand our clients’ business objectives and translate them into effective ML/AI solutions.
• Evaluation of model performance and continuous improvement of accuracy and efficiency through iterative optimization.
• Communication of findings and insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assumption of functional leadership responsibilities and support of other data scientists in their professional development.

Qualifications – Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data science with proven hands‑on experience in applied machine learning, AI and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, including experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, NLTK), as well as a good command of SQL.
• Great understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
• Experience leading projects or taking on functional leadership responsibilities.
• Experience communicating with and managing stakeholders, ideally in the IT services industry or a consulting environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced environments, with excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex technical concepts.
• Fluency in English.

Qualifications – Nice-to-Haves

• Fluency in German (minimum B2 level).
• Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
• Experience with data processing in Spark and Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Experience with data visualization, dashboarding tools or simple frontends for visualization (Streamlit, Dash, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Keras).
• Previous experience with ML operations and deploying ML/AI models into production environments.
• Experience with generative AI and agentic systems.
