Senior Data Center Mechanical Engineer

Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support hyperscale data center construction programs in Germany. You will focus on designing new hyperscale facilities, provide engineering support to operations, and guide A/E consultants to ensure robust mechanical systems.

You will review drawings, perform root-cause analyses, and develop engineering bulletins while collaborating with cross-functional teams. International travel may be required for project sites.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in data center construction.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and related products (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams (structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams).
• Solid understanding of large-scale data center mechanical infrastructure, including cooling and fire protection.
• Familiarity with mission critical infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating scope with multiple trades.
• Ability to work independently remotely.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites with little or no supervision.
• Experience with data center projects inside and outside of the US is strongly preferred.

• Peer review drawings, specs, sequences of operations, calculations, models, and other deliverables.
• Review and recommend value engineering opportunities.
• Analyze redundancies, failure modes, and SPoF with RAM modelers.
• Create rapid conceptual CAD or BIM sketches for internal visualization and validation.
• Assist and occasionally lead projects addressing mechanical issues, outages, fleet-wide improvements, and operational campus needs.
• Evaluate post-mortem reports, 8D/root cause analyses, and presentations.
• Generate solution, upgrade, and improvement options with fleet-wide impact.
• Analyze operational trends to evaluate equipment health, remaining useful life, and predictive failure models.
• Process construction-originated engineering issues with construction, design, and change management partners.
• Develop engineering bulletins and route design changes through established procedures.
• Support standard design improvement processes across products, design, construction, and operations.
• Visit construction or operational sites only if needed.
• Operate Buganizer platform to file bugs, work orders, and closeouts.
• Build presentations using Google Slides to communicate findings, evaluations, and options.
