Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese company and the largest developer, producer and supplier of HVAC‑R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions worldwide, including heating pumps and cooling technology. DENV is Daikin’s sales, R&D and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle‑East and Africa, with Belgian offices in Brussels, Ghent and Ostend, 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and a network of distributors across the EMEA region.

The Corporate Planning division, located in Brussels, comprises several departments: Group Controlling & Daikin Europe controlling, the Business Analytics department, the Internal Controls & J‑Sox department, and Corporate Communications. The division translates strategy into annual budgets and realizes group targets in cooperation with sales, manufacturing and other departments. It manages sales, margin and pricing data, and provides market intelligence. The mission is to safeguard and manage profitability through periodic reporting, close follow‑up, and countermeasure actions. The division also implements corporate governance and internal controls such as J‑Sox and system access.

About the job – Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and improvement‑focused Senior Data & Control Analyst to join our project team at Daikin EMEA HQ in Brussels.

In this role you will develop and ensure the framework of our reporting environment within our IT system landscape, participating and leading roll‑outs, standardisation and improvement projects across the entire Daikin EMEA Group. You will act as the bridge between business and IT by collaborating with senior management, business controllers and IT analysts in Daikin HQ and affiliate companies of the EMEA group.

Function
  • The department plays a leading role in roll‑out of actionable dashboards in sales, service and supply related departments and affiliates. You will write functional and business requirements to create the data models and develop PBI reports for these roll‑outs.
  • You will work closely with business to understand their needs and translate requirements from both business and functional perspectives.
  • You will be a member of different project teams involved in SAP / Azure projects at Headquarters and affiliates.
  • Together with our IT department you will discover what tools, functionalities and data the business needs to analyse and steer the business. At Daikin we aim to continuously improve and stay at the forefront of new developments.
  • You will drive the move towards a more data‑driven business in EMEA.
  • You will promote the development of innovative new data and reporting platforms in collaboration with business and IT across all departments and Daikin affiliates.
Your profile
  • You have a master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math or Data Science.
  • You already have extensive experience in a similar role as data analyst or business analyst, preferably in a complex and large organisation.
  • You have a strong understanding of ETL processes and can guide the IT department in structuring tables, relationships and dimension mappings correctly. Basic knowledge of data warehousing (SAP BW, Microsoft Azure, Databricks) is a plus.
  • You are proficient in DAX, following best practices and handling complex statements such as calculation groups and parameter tables. Experience with Tabular Editor for centralised DAX management is preferred.
  • You develop Power BI dashboards and reports, transforming user input into proactive data visualisations that facilitate decision‑making. You have experience optimisation of report performance using tools like DAX Studio, Report Analyzer, DAX Optimiser and ALM Toolkit (a plus).
  • You have a basic understanding of source systems such as SAP PR2 (S/4HANA), CRM, and CEC.
  • You have experience in building sales‑related reports, including sales analysis, pipeline tracking, gross margin variation, SG&A tracking and P&L analysis.
  • You are proactive and think outside the box to drive innovative solutions.
  • You can understand and challenge the needs of customers and formalise the derived requirements.
  • You have outstanding collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are result‑driven with a strong focus on improvements.
