Jobbeschreibung
Your new role

We are looking for a driven and business-focused Senior Consultant Business Development to strengthen Ramboll’s growth in Germany. In this role, you will work across our key markets to identify new business opportunities, improve our sales processes and make our commercial efforts more effective. You will collaborate closely with market directors, sales teams and tender managers to turn market insights into tangible business results.
Working in a matrix organisation, you bring people together from specialists to senior leaders and build a stronger, more connected commercial culture. You use CRM data not only to analyse trends but to identify growth opportunities, resolve bottlenecks and continuously improve the way we win new business.

Your Responsibilities
  • Drive growth by identifying and developing opportunities in Ramboll’s key markets and client segments.
  • Use CRM data proactively to uncover trends, improve pipeline visibility and turn insights into concrete business actions.
  • Strengthen Ramboll’s commercial capabilities by sharing best practices, enhancing sales skills and building commercial awareness across teams.
  • Identify weaknesses in our sales process and address them systematically to improve how we identify, pursue and win opportunities.
  • Work closely with colleagues across business areas to align activities and ensure shared commercial goals are achieved.
  • Support go-to-market planning through white space analysis, client segmentation and opportunity prioritisation.
  • Contribute to growth initiatives such as account-based sales approaches, cross-selling programmes and selected M&A scouting.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure commercial initiatives are well integrated into Ramboll’s strategic direction.
About you
  • University degree in business administration, economics, engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in business development, sales or commercial excellence, ideally in an engineering, consulting or infrastructure environment.
  • A strong commercial mindset and the ability to turn analysis into measurable business improvements.
  • Hands‑on experience using CRM systems, to increase sales effectiveness and identify process improvements.
  • Confidence working in a matrix organisation and the ability to motivate people across functions and seniority levels without formal authority.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a practical approach to problem‑solving and process optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in both German and English.
  • Knowledge or interest in infrastructure, energy, cities or environmental markets is an advantage.
What we can offer you
  • Commitment to your development
  • Leaders guided by our Leadership Principles
  • A culture that welcomes you as the unique person you are
  • Inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects
  • The long‑term thinking of a foundation‑owned company
  • Flexible working hours and locations
  • Hybrid working: 2‑3 days of mobile working per week
  • Permanent employment, with part‑time possibilities
  • An extensively subsidised 'Germany ticket'
  • Contribution to company pension scheme and occupational disability insurance

Please submit your application with your up‑to‑date CV. Please also upload any available reference letters (or if you have worked outside of Germany and do not have reference letters, contact information of referees) from your previous employments and the certificate of your highest education. This will help to facilitate a smooth and quick process in case you are offered the position. If these documents are not uploaded, it might delay the process.

We recognise that some candidates only apply when they tick every box. However, passion and potential often outweigh a perfect resume and Ramboll’s supportive learning culture can help you grow. So if this role resonates with you but you don’t meet all the requirements, we encourage you to apply. You might be the perfect fit for this opportunity or another within our team.
