Job summary

European humanoid robotics company is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to own the robot’s structure from concept to production CAD. You will work with Tech Leads and AI teams to define standards and choose deep focus areas such as structures or actuation.

The role emphasizes delivering parts that ship, not just renderings, with equity opportunities as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in robotics, automotive or aerospace.
• Expert CAD and FEA skills.
• Strong understanding of load paths, bearings and fasteners.
• Experience designing for series production and cost-down.
• Knowledge of kinematics and how mechanics interacts with control.

Responsibilities

Job description

Most robots never leave the demo floor. This one is being built to work a full shift in a factory.

We’re working with a European humanoid robotics company whose alpha robots are already being tested in the lab. Its founders have built the actuators many of today’s robots run on, helped write the first humanoid safety standards, and scaled companies to unicorn valuations. Its AI is led by a pioneer of data-efficient reinforcement learning. The company is funded and is now hiring the engineers who will design the robot’s body.

The role

You’ll own the robot’s mechanical structure, from concept through to production-ready CAD. That covers lightweight structures, actuation, clean load paths, and DFM/DFA built in from day one. You’ll work directly with the Technical Leads and the AI and controls teams, set the design standards for the team, and choose where to go deep: structures, actuation or simulation.

What you will bring

• 5+ years in robotics, automotive or aerospace, including complex hardware you’ve taken into production


• Expert CAD and FEA skills (CATIA, Fusion 360 and Abaqus are ideal)


• First-principles mechanical skills: bearings, fasteners, strength assessment and load paths


• A working understanding of kinematics, actuation, and how mechanics and control interact


• Experience designing for series production: parts reduction, tolerancing and cost-down
