A renewable energy startup is seeking a Senior Commercial Lead to expand technology into the global semiconductor industry. You will build high-value partnerships, develop tailored solutions for key manufacturers, and play a crucial role in commercial strategy. The ideal candidate has significant semiconductor experience and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. This role offers a contractor position with a negotiable daily rate depending on experience.

Founded in 2015 by two UNSW graduates, we have come a long way from the breakthrough made in their garage to producing the world’s most efficient commercial-sized solar cell.
Since 2022, we have secured over $45 million in funding from Australia’s top venture capital firms (Blackbird, Main Sequence, Virescent, and Mike Cannon-Brookes’s private investment fund, Grok), tech founders, a former Australian Prime Minister, and the Australian Government.
As a Senior Commercial Lead for SunDrive, you will play a key role in expanding our technology into the global semiconductor industry. Your work will help us build high-value partnerships that unlock new commercial opportunities and ensure our technology is positioned for global impact.
You’ll be responsible for identifying, shaping, and converting strategic commercial opportunities—particularly with semiconductor manufacturers and equipment partners. Your deep industry understanding will help us build trust with customers, map emerging opportunities (initially focused on panel-level plating, automation, and tooling), and tailor our value proposition to solve meaningful challenges.
In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with our executive, technical, and product teams to align technology with market needs, and provide input into our commercial strategy. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you’ll be based in Europe (Southern Germany/Austria preferred) and travel to the US and Asia to develop and manage key accounts, as required.
