Hug Engineering in Magdeburg seeks a seasoned CAD design engineer to take technical responsibility for exhaust aftertreatment systems. You will generate layouts, approval and production drawings, and act as the CAD support lead for local projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CAD design, strong knowledge of 3D CAD (Inventor a plus), and experience with PDM/PLM and BOM management; travel ~5% is expected.

• Primary point of contact for CAD support on projects managed in Magdeburg


• Regular collaboration with steelwork suppliers


• Technical support of sales, project management, purchasing, quality, and service


• Initiate and manage development projects and actively participate in project teams


• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines (UL, ASME, AWS, DIN, EN, ISO, ...)


• Contribute to product development and product standardization efforts


• Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis/ Hazard and Operability analysis

YOUR PROFILE

• Successfully completed degree as CAD/ mechanical engineer or comparable


• At least 5 years of professional experience as CAD design engineer


• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for mechanical design; experience in Autodesk Inventor is an advantage


• Familiarity with PDM/PLM and structured BOM management


• Relevant experience in steelwork design, in particular welding constructions


• High degree of autonomy and reliability


• Strong teamwork and communication skills


• Hands-on mentality and a structured and methodical way of working


• Good written and spoken skills in German and English, Italian or Dutch is an advantage


• Available to travel approximately 5%
