About the project
Expected, C++ Optional, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, Docker, Kubernetes About the project, Within this engagement, we are part of the structured rates products team, responsible for developing analytics services that support the pricing and initial valuation of financial instruments used across the bank’s systems and web-based applications. The solution is built using a microservices architecture, with communication handled via the Solace messaging system (pub/sub architecture). All microservices are deployed on the bank’s own Kubernetes cluster and are used by traders for the initial valuation of financial products before they are traded. Team size, > 20 people, and 7 from Montrose This is how we work, at the client's site, agile, scrum.
Your responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining fintech applications for Linux operating systems
- Implement new features, optimize existing functionality, and fix bugs
- Work together with other developers to deliver high-quality results
- Proven experience in C++ (development, optimization, or system design)
- Experience with performance-critical applications and safe memory management
- Good knowledge of programming patterns and best practices, with a strong focus on clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace)
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Optional, Fintech experience
- Familiar with RESTful applications
- Experience designing or working with microservice-based systems
- Numeracy to be able to understand quantitative finance
- Strong software engineering or math background
