NKT, a global leader in high-voltage cable manufacturing, seeks a Senior Business Controller, Project (m/f/d) based in Berlin or Cologne. You will shape the financial steering of large projects, partnering with the business partner and reporting to the Director Project Controlling.

Bring 5+ years of experience, SAP expertise, and fluent German/English to drive forecasts, risk management, and early warning systems. Travel up to 20% to support international projects and stakeholders.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Business Administration or comparable qualification.
• At least five years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Proficient knowledge of SAP (CO, FI, PS & SD) and strong MS Excel skills.
• Basic knowledge of HGB and IFRS (IFRS 15).
• Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and result focus.
• Fluent German and English, with willingness to travel up to 20%.

Aufgaben

• Project controlling and forecasts: budgets and forecast planning with the business partner.
• Risk management: identify and evaluate risks and opportunities in projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Early warning systems: develop and refine early warning mechanisms for critical developments.
• Business partner support: act as a financial, commercial, and risk advisor to partners.
• Interface management: collaborate with Legal, Contract Management and risk specialists.
• Working capital and cash flow management: coordinate with business partner on liquidity.
• Analysis and reporting: prepare target vs. actuals and monthly project reports.

Your responsibility areas

As a Senior Business Controller, Project (m/f/d), you take on a central role in the financial management and advisory of one or more of our large-scale projects. You work closely with the responsible business partner and are accountable for planning and analysis. You are part of an international team of additional (Senior) Business Controllers and report to the Director Project Controlling.

Further tasks are:

• Project controlling & forecasts: Independent preparation of budget and forecast planning in close coordination with the business partner
• Risk management: Identification and evaluation of risks and opportunities in projects, as well as coordination with relevant stakeholders
• Early warning systems: Establishment and continuous development of early warning systems to identify critical developments at an early stage
• Business partner support: Point of contact for financial, commercial, and risk-related topics
• Interface management: Close collaboration with Legal, Contract Management, and risk management specialists
• Working capital & cash flow: Management of working capital, including cash flow controlling, in coordination with the business partner
• Analysis & reporting: Preparation of target vs. actual comparisons to assess project performance, as well as monthly reporting for internal and external purposes

Your profile

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on project controlling, or a comparable qualification
• At least five years of professional experience in a similar position
• Proficient knowledge of SAP (CO, FI, PS & SD) and confident use of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Basic knowledge of accounting according to HGB and IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
• Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and a high level of commitment with a clear focus on results
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken with willingness to travel up to 20% – both nationally and internationally
