Overview
Senior Backend Engineer Electrical Engineering (all genders) responsible for developing with a focus on electrical energy systems, modeling, and algorithms, collaborating with an engineering team to deliver value to customers and influence product development.
Responsibilities
- Part of a cross-functional team (Backend, Frontend, DevOps, Design, Product) developing advanced applications in energy technology that provide direct benefits to customers.
- Design, improve and implement energy-technical processes and mathematical solvers in our platform, following current state of the art and best practices.
- Contribute to the conception and development of professional backend solutions to continuously improve the product in an agile environment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate expertise in electrical grids and related calculation methods to internal and external stakeholders and enable them to use the software effectively.
Dein Profil
- Background in electrical energy technology with knowledge of distribution networks and equipment modeling (e.g., lines, transformers, grounding concepts; ideally also center-tapped/split-phase transformers and transformer banks).
- Strong knowledge of network analysis methods (load flow, short-circuit/fault calculations, reliability analyses), ideally complemented by state estimation and general optimization methods.
- At least 3 years of Python experience and potentially other languages (C++, Go, Rust) in electrical energy technology and mathematical algorithms, software design and architecture.
- Generalist mindset, enjoys coding, interacts with stakeholders, and coaches others in electrical energy engineering.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in electrical energy technology clearly and translate customer problems into concrete product requirements, especially for grid operators and municipal utilities.
- Team player who works with talented colleagues and inspires others.
- Seeks technical challenges and takes pride in finding intelligent, creative solutions.
- Fluent English (C1) and ideally familiarity with parts of our tech stack; willing to keep up with industry best practices.
