Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a (Senior) Associate in Financial Restructuring to join our European practice in Germany. Munich and Frankfurt are key locations for this role. You will work with a skilled team delivering independent reviews, cash flow assessments, and restructuring options for distressed situations.

Fluent English and German, strong MS Office skills, and a proactive, analytical mindset are essential as you contribute to client engagements and business development activities.

Qualifikationen

• Strong academic background combined with experience within a Restructuring team at a leading consultancy firm or a Big 4 accountancy firm
• The ability to demonstrate experience contributing to or leading work streams in restructuring projects that can include independent business reviews, short‑term cash flow assessments, capital structure analysis and lender restructuring options analysis
• Expertise and aptitude to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, particularly in constructing integrated financial models, analysing financial under‑performance and related services
• Fluent business‑level English and German are essential. Additional European language skills are advantageous
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, challenging, and uncertain environment
• Objective, fact‑based approach to problem solving

• Evaluate business plans and financial projections, including assessments of risks and opportunities – contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation
• Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the Germany and European Restructuring community through the delivery of value‑added client engagements
• Contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates

The Team

A&M’s established European Financial & Operational Restructuring (F&OR) Advisory practice enables companies, investors and creditors in complex restructuring processes to evaluate the risks and opportunities of a company’s business plan and subsequently develop, negotiate and implement restructuring alternatives to maximize recovery.

How You Will Contribute
